Appearance: Donatello stands at 5’4”, has a light olive green skin tone, deep brown shell and ochre yellow plastron. He is a slight bit less stocky then his brothers but not as lean either, as he prefers mind over physical. So he can be described as almost lanky. He wears a lavender purple mask, the tails reaching just past his shoulders. His bo staff is strapped to his back diagonally right to left. Often he carries an old army beige canvas duffle bag, that holds varies tools, gadgets and medical supplies dependant on the current mission. His knees and elbows are protected by brown leather pads, and he wears wrist wraps, and a belt of the same material.

Personality: Often described as an introvert, Donatello is actually the most emotional of his brothers. He is a pessimist, having even chosen the least deadly weapon. If there is a way to avoid violence he will try to implement it. This does not however mean he is necessarily weak, only he has a different way of handling things. He is the quietest of the turtles, again preferring to watch and observe then participate. Unless of course he really needs to retaliate; then you have to watch out because his practical jokes are subtle and effective: and always unexpected.

Abilities/Strengths: Donatello’s weapon is a bo staff, a simple wooden staff often found with lead balances on both ends of equal weight which give the bo a heavier hitting power and swing (though it isn’t confirmed if Donny’s bo has these). He is a master of bojutsu, ninjustu and espionage. His biggest talents, however, lie in technological and mechnical skills; having been the one to create all of the turtles vehicles, gadgets and day to day appliances. His strengths are math, science, biology and basic medics—the last due mainly to his brothers tendency to get hurt.. He is a hacker and often stays up late working on some invention: so you could say he also has a good energy drive :D.

Weaknesses: better with machines then fighting, his family in danger, relies too much on outside and technological ‘help’ instead of his own strength,

Notable Possessions: a purple ninja-mask and brown leather ninja gear, a bo staff, a beige duffle bag that contains whatever ‘gadgets’ needed for the current mission. I will have it filled with: his laptop and it’s charger, night-vision goggles, basic tool kit, wrench set, small laser pointer and shell-cell.

History:
Donatello, before he was the brainy ninja turtle, was a normal baby pet shop turtle. He, along with three other baby turtles, was bought by a young boy. While on the way to their new home, a twist of fate occurred- a blind man is nearly hit by a car and the man who saves him bumps into the boy. The bump sends the small glass jar into the sewers, breaking on impact and freeing the little ones.

Yet something else happened at that moment, the truck that nearly hit the blind man loses a small part of it’s cargo down the drain as well- a small tube filled with a strange glowing green ooze. The tube breaks and the ooze spills all over the baby turtles and a kind rat that had found them. The rat attempts to clean them off before taking the baby turtles to his burrow.

The next surprise comes the next morning, the ooze has somehow altered the baby turtles and the rat- giving them human thought, emotion and a humanoid shape. The rat, called Splinter, cares for the baby turtles and once they are old enough he begins to teach them ninjitsu, the shadow art of the warrior. Splinter names the turtles after famous renaissance artists: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo.
